Zins, 76, of Lakewood NJ, passed away on Sunday August
17, 2008.
Born in
Newark, she was a licensed practical nurse for Columbus
Hospital in Newark, retiring after 18 years in 1982. She is
a former parishioner and member of the Sacred Heart RC
Church, Catholic Daughters of Bloomfield and member of
Birthright of Essex County.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Zins of Lakewood,
NJ, her sons David Zins of Waunakee, WI, and Brian Zins of
Danville, PA, her daughters Patricia Zins of Glen Ridge,
Mary Park of Philadelphia, PA, Ruth Zins of Doylestown, PA,
and Cynthia Zins of Manville, NJ, her brother John Larkin of
Port St. Lucia, FL, her 9 grandchildren and one great
grandchild.
Visiting will be Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 at the
Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd. in Toms
River. Funeral will be Friday, arrive at the Funeral Home
8:00 am, Funeral Mass 9:00 am at St Dominic's RC Church,

Marian J. Trent, (nee
Armenti), 81, of Toms River, died of a stroke on Friday,
August 15, 2008 after a brief hospice stay at Bey Lea
Village Care Center in Toms River.
Born in Newark, NJ to
Alfonso C. and Maria Lucia Armenti (nee Pace) she lived in
Morris Township and Madison before moving to Toms River in
1988. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she was
trained as an executive secretary and held several positions
including Administrative Assistant to the Provost of
Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison Campus, and
executive secretary at Shearson Lehman in Morristown.
Valedictorian of her high school class at Newark's Central
High School in 1944, she valued education and learning and
shared those values with her family and friends. A
passionate reader, she inspired her children and
grandchildren by exploring the world through books and
literature. Her meticulous attention to detail made
her volunteer duties in the Pharmacy Department of the Ocean
Medical Center greatly rewarding.
Her death on the Feast of the Assumption seems a fitting
tribute to a life lived in Marian devotion. She was a
member and officer of the Rosary Altar Society of St. Luke
Roman Catholic Church, where she was a parishioner.
Marian was preceded in death by her loving husband Owen H.
Trent, her sister Vera Salon (nee Armenti) and her brother
Allen Armenti. She is survived by daughter and
son-in-law Deborah and Raymond Walsh of West Chicago, IL,
sons and daughters-in law Mark and Debbye Trent of
Fairfield, NJ and Barry and Katrina Trent of Chanhassen, MN
and seven grandchildren, Helen and Thomas Walsh, Kyle, Tara
and Travis Trent, and Sarah and Alexander Trent, as well as
dear sister-in-law Barbara Armenti Casini and many nieces
and nephews.
Visiting will be Wednesday
1-5 PM at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church
Road, Toms River. For funeral Thursday, arrive at the
Funeral Home 9:15, Funeral Mass to follow 10:15 St. Luke RC

W. Connelly 66 of Toms River passed away August 15, 2008
at Community Medical Center Hospice, Toms River.
Born
in Valhalla, NY, Marty resided in White Plains, NY before
moving to Toms River in 1971. Marty was a Vietnam Veteran
serving in the United States Army. He was a member of the
Guild of Creative Arts of Red Bank and the Ocean County
Artists Guild in Island Heights.
Surviving
are his beloved wife Catherine "Cathy" Connelly,
his loving children daughter Jill Connelly, son Michael J.
Connelly and his wife Tracy and cherished granddaughter
Corinne Connelly.

away Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Meredian Nursing &
Rehab Center, Brick.
Born in Kearny, coming from
Pt. Pleasant to Brick in 1958. Lois worked as a clerk
for the Township of Brick, Brick, NJ, for 34 year, retiring
in 1997. She was a past president of Brick Elks Ladies
Auxiliary, and Past President of DOE's.
She is predeceased by her husband Franklin in 2003, and
survived by 2 sons; James P. Mullin of California, Trey
Altemose of Lakeville, MN and a daughter; Karen E.
Altemose of Brick, Grandchildren; Sean Mullin, David Mullin,
Leigh Mullin and Greyson Altemose, and Bryton Altemose .

She was a clerical worker for the Ocean County Offices.

in Ridgefield Park, she lived in Maywood before moving to
Brick in 1985. Mrs Kesnig was an Executive Secretary for
Ampex Broadcast Company, Allendale for 18 years retiring in
1987.
She
is survived by her husband Charles, one son Wayne of
Maywood, one daughter Connie Tyson-Valenti of Paterson, Her
sister Constance Opie of Hampton, ME, 4 grandchildren and 4
great grandchildren.

Deerfield Beach, FL. Mrs Liguori was a homemaker.
She is
predeceased by her husband Vincent A. Liguori who passed in
1993. She is survived by one son Vincent L Liguori of
Buellton, CA, one daughter Jacqueline T. Hosang of Lake
Worth, FL. One Brother Jack Mascola of Greenbriar

H. Staudt, 75 of Lakewood, passed on Sunday, August 10,
2008 at home.
Born in Passaic, he lived
in Clifton, Irvington and Point Pleasant before moving to
Lakewood in 1997. Mr. Staudt graduated in 1959 from
Newark College of Engineering as a mechanical engineer and
was employed by Air Cruisers Corporation in Wall for 30
years before retiring in 2004. He held several patents in
aircraft evacuation equipment and was once named Who's Who
Among Students in American Universities & Colleges.
He had a passion for airplanes, painting, playing his banjo
& guitar and was an avid artist and cartoonist.
He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He was a parishioner of St. Mary's By The Sea Episcopal
Church in Point Pleasant Beach, the American Society of
Mechanical Engineers, NY, NY, the Garden Club and Men's Club
of Four Seasons in Lakewood.
Mr. Staudt is predeceased
by a daughter, Pamela Fairmont who passed in 2006. He
is survived by this loving wife Lois, one son, Ronald of
Toms River, and one daughter, Victoria Rightmire of Santa
Barbara, CA. Also surviving are his daughter-in-law,
Valerie Staudt of Toms River, two son-in-laws, Randy
Rightmire and Robert Elmore of Santa Barbara, CA, one
brother Frank Staudt of North Carolina, and four
grandchildren, Lauren, Connor, Abigail and Evelyn.
Dean will be remembered as a loving husband, father,
brother, grandfather and friend.

Monte, 90, of Brick, NJ. Passed away Saturday,
August 9, 2008 at Meridian Nursing & Rehabilitation at
Brick.
Born in
Hoboken, NJ, with homes in both Brick and Yachats, OR.
Woodrow was owner of Monte Real Estate & Insurance
Agency in Hoboken for over 45 years. He was also the
Tax Assessor of Hoboken for 26 years, retiring in 1988.
Woodrow was predeceased by his parents Charles and
Josephine; his brother, Charles and one sister, Anna.
His wife, Teresa died in 1997.
He is survived by his sisters Celia and Margaret Monte of
Lakewood; his children, Dr. Woodrow Monte of New Zealand;
his daughter and her husband, Valerie and Richard Tedeschi
of Toms River; his son and daughter in law James and Joan
Marie Monte of Toms River: a son, Dennis Monte and his fiancé
Mary Grosse of Brick. He also leaves behind a
granddaughter, Lisa Marzario of Toms River; and grandson,
Richard J. Tedeschi, Esq. and his wife Carolyn of Brick,
along with four beloved great-grandchildren, Kristi D'Arpa,
Anthony and Nicholas Marzario and Richard J. "RJ"
Tedeschi. At the end of his life, Woodrow was very
lovingly cared for by Jane Cummings, Lakewood, Katevan and
Elena Tsertsvadze and Gia Lagurashvili.

Patania, nee: Antinozzi, of Brick, passed away August 8,
2008 at Burnt Tavern Rehabilitation Healthcare Center,
Brick.
Born May 20,
1922. Devoted wife of Dominick Patania for 62 years.
Laura graduated from Central High School in Newark, NJ in
1940. She was employed at H. A. Wilson Company in
Newark, during WWII. Laura was secretary of the West
Side High School Adult Eveing Program. She retired
from Siemans Corporation in Iselin, NJ where she was
cafeteria manager. Laura resided in Newark, NJ before
moving to Iselin in 1967 and Lions Head North in 1991.
She is survived by her loving children; Donald and Jean
Patania, Lorraine Stepien, Walter Stepien and grandchildren
Kara Marie Simonton, Jill Lynn Patania and Michael Donald
Patania. Laura is predeceased by her twin
brother Leonard Antinozzi and sisters Cecelia Talbot and
Florence Antinozzi.

passed away August 8, at home, surrounded by her loving
family.
Born in
Newark, Jean has lived in Brick since 1967. Jean worked for
JCP&L as a customer service rep, before retiring in
1992. She was a member of the Stoke Steppers Dance
group and was a volunteer at Brick Hospital.
Jean is predeceased by her husband, Michael Zennario II,
stepson, Michael Zennario III, and her brother, Georg
Wuesthoff. Jean leaves to cherish her precious
memories, 3 sons; George Porzio of California; Gene Porzio
and his wife Rose Marie, of Toms River; Fred Porzio and his
wife Cathy of Brick; her daughter, Gina and her husband

Talbott 84 years old, passed away August 4, 2008 at home
in Brick.
Cecelia was
born in Newark and had resided in Sayreville before moving
to Brick in 1993. Mrs. Talbott was a secretary for the
Sayreville Broad of Education for over 20 years retiring in
1984.
She was the
wife of 57 years to the late Robert G. Talbott who died in
2004.
Surviving are her cherished daughters and their husbands,

"Jack" J. Sloyan Jr., 82 years old, passed
away suddenly on August 2, 2008 at Kimball Medical Center,
Lakewood.
Jack
was born in Plainfield where he resided before moving to
Greenbriar Woodlands, Toms River in 1998. He was a World War
II Army Veteran.
Working for Bell Atlantic as an Engineering Manager for 35
years he retired in 1981.
Jack was a communicant of St. Luke's RC Church, Toms River
where he served as an usher, and he was also a member of the
Knights of Columbus.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Monica in 1969.
Surviving
are his sons John J. III, and his wife Maureen, and James P.
both of Charlton, MA. His daughters Eileen Sloyan, and
her husband Bill Howard of Annandale, VA and Claire M.
Sloyan of Little Egg Harbor. His close friend Claire

Office for 27 years.
His
father Ralph predeceased him in 1991.

Mrs. Piercy worked for Toms River Convalescent Center, now
known as Health South as a nurse for 12 years retiring in
1980.
She
was predeceased by her first husband Edward Strassle Sr. who
died in 1966 and her second husband George H. Piercy Sr. who
died in 2002. She was also predeceased by her son
Gregory Strassle and stepsons George Piercy Jr. and Douglas
Piercy.
Surviving
are her sons Edward Strassle and Bruce Strassle and her step
children Charlotte Broome, Janet Wheeler, Edith Hayes, Barry
Piercy and David Piercy, 38 grandchildren and 44 great
grandchildren.

Vetrano (nee Ventigli) 86, of Brick passed away
Wednesday July 24, 2008.
Rose
was the light of everyone's life and is best remembered by
the big smile she always wore and her infectious laugh. Rose
was born in Trenton, NJ raised her family in Ramsey, NJ and
retired to Brick 22 years ago.
She
is survived by her devoted husband , best friend and life
partner Joe, her most precious children Joann Purcell and
her husband Rick and Bea Tiberge and her husband Raymond,
her beautiful granddaughters Danielle Charles and her
husband Josh and Melanie Hummer, 5 very special great
grandchildren, Justin, Jordan, Alexis, Zoe and Jasmynn and a
large extended family. Rose will be missed so very much by
everyone who experienced her joy of life and deep love of
her family.

of Toms River, passed away, Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at
home.
Born in Brooklyn, NY,
living in Cranford for 25 years before moving to Toms River
in 1984. Virginia was a Graduate of Mulhenberg
Hospital School of Nursing, receiving her RN in 1952, being
a devoted wife and mother Virginia stayed home to raise her
children, returning to nursing she worked as a DON in Union
& Ocean County, then retired in 1992 as an
Assistant Administrator for Bey Lea Village Nursing Home,
Toms River. She was a member of St. Luke RC Church and Green
Island Association.
She was predeceased by her
brother Lester. Survived by her husband of 54 years,
Joseph. Her 2 sons; Joseph and his wife Eileen of South
Brunswick and James and his wife Carolin of Cranford, a
daughter Lynn and her husband Arthur Capone of Toms River,
and 9 Grandchildren.

he lived in
North Arlington
before moving to Brick in 1958. Mr. Grande retired
from the United States Airforce as Master Sgt. in 1984 after
serving in the Korean War and the Vietnam War serving for 35
years He was a parishioner of The Church of the
Visitation and a member of the Choir. He was a life
member of the Community First Aid Squad and had served as
President and Captain. As well a member of the Pioneer Hose
Fire Company, both of Brick. He worked at Brick Hospital
Emergency Depart for 9 years, a member of the K of C, Brick.
He was an avid fisherman, loved football and was a great
Giants Fan.
He is
predeceased by his first wife Dorothy who passed in 1997.
He is survived by his second wife Rosemary (nee Monteleone),
two sons and daughters in law Michael and Jeanne Grande and
David & Tammy Grande, Two daughters and a son in law
Patricia & Ron DeMartino and Tina and Boo Loeffler.

Andrew
Joseph Fraone, 53, of Toms River, passed away suddenly
Sunday, July 20th, 2008 at the Toms River Community Medical
Center.
Andrew
was born in Jersey City, NJ, but lived most of his life in
Bayonne, NJ before spending his remaining years in Toms
River, NJ. He had worked for General Motors for 32 ˝
years, starting as an assembler on the line, working his way
up to line quality auditor, retiring May 1st of this year.
Andrew is survived by his wife Diane, son Andrew, daughter
Brigette, parents Joseph and Florence Fraone, brother Joseph
Fraone and Carol Fraone of Mays Landing, brother Mark Fraone
and Donna Mallory of Caldwell and sister Janet and Joe
Polero of Toms River. He is also survived by 10 nieces
and nephews.
Andrew was a dedicated husband and father who always put his
family first at all costs. He was most proud of his

Cedole, 87 of Toms River, passed on Monday, July 20,
2008 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
Born in
Orange, NJ he lived in West Orange before moving to Toms
River in 1986. Mr Cedole worked for Bendix
Corporation, Teterboro for 30 years, he retired as a
supervisor at General Dynamics in Avenel were he worked for
10 years retiring in 1986. Mr Cedole was a WWII Navy
Veteran, a parishioner of The Parish of St Pio of
Pietrelcina, Lavalette, and a member of the Church's
Holy Name Society, A 3rd Degree K of C St Catherine's
Council, Seaside Park and Italian American Club of Seaside
Heights.
He is
predeceased by his wife Juliet Polisena Cedole who passed in
2004. He is survived by his son Anthony of Lavalette
and his daughter and son in law Carole and Vincent
Baldassano of Oxford, CT, two grandchildren Francesca &
Alexandre.

Krause, 58 of Toms River, passed peacefully on Saturday,
July 19, 2008 in the presence of her family.
Born
in Freehold, she lived in Millstone Twp until moving to Toms
River in 1985. She was presently employed with Mid-State
Title Co. in Toms River for the last 10 years. Lydia loved
spending time with her family, especially having sleep overs
with her grandson Cole. Lydia was a very giving person, she
would not think twice about giving what she had to help
others. She had a passion for riding on motorcycles and
watching Nascar races with husband Terry. She spent her time
gardening, shopping and enjoyed listening to country music
while occasionally having a glass of red wine. Lydia had a
heart of gold and never once during her battle with cancer
did she complain, but instead she apologized for her
sickness.
She
is predeceased by her husband Terry of 36 years, who passed
in December of 2006.
She is survived by her son Brian and his wife Michele and
their children Jacob, Joshua, Cole and Brooke, and son
Kenneth and Mariann and their children Lyndsey and Danielle.

2008 at home.
Born in West
New York, he resided in Union City, Jersey City, and
Norwood, before moving to Whiting in 1987. Michael had
worked for the Hackensack Water Department and Durotest
before working for the Jersey City Public Works in the
Maintenance Department.
He was predeceased by his wife Lena Vernuccio, who died in
April 2008, and a son Salvatore who died in 1968. Surviving
is her daughter; Genevieve Ballance and 2 grandchildren;
Danielle Balance and Michael Ballance.

F. Schifano 76, of Greenbriar Woodlands, Toms River
passed away July 15, 2008 at Kimball Medical Center,
Lakewood.
Born
in Emerson, NJ, he grew up in the Marion Section of
Jersey City. He resided in Staten Island moving to
Greenbriar Woodlands, Toms River in 1990.
He attended Jersey City State College. Joseph retired
from the Hudson County Sheriff's Department as a Lieutenant
in 1994. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War
and also served with the New Jersey National Guard.
Joseph
was a 32nd Degree mason and a member of the Hiram Lodge 17
F&AM, Bayonne, where he served as master from 1980-1981.
A member of the American Legion Post 427, Jersey City and
served as Post Commander for 2 years. He served on the
Hudson County Executive of the American Legion, a member of
the Fraternal Order of Police, the Policeman's Benevolent
Association and was a life member of the NRA. He also
assisted in forming the Boy Scout Troop No. 18 in Jersey
City and served as a Committee Man for the Troop, While
resided in Greenbriar, he was a member of the Camera Club,
Walking Club and Golf Association.
Surviving
are his wife Frances Schifano. His sons Patrick J. and
his wife Milagros and Charles V. Schifano. Brothers
Frank P. and his wife Lillian, Patrick C. and his wife
Patricia of Tucson, Arizona. A nephew Thomas and his
wife Marissa, several grandchildren and a stepdaughter Linda
Minardi.

Registered Nurse, she did private duty and taught nursing at
the West Essex General Hospital, Livingston, NJ, retiring in
1980. Mildred was known as "Mrs. Blue Claws"
an avid Blue Claws Baseball fan, and enjoyed going to their
home games.
She was predeceased by her first husband Emerald Queen in
1945, and her second husband Salvatore in 1987.

He then was the finance officer for The North Eastern Region
for The United States Postal Service, White Plains, NY
retiring in 1979.

2008 at home. Born in Newark.
She
lived in Florham Park before moving to Toms River in 1987.
Mrs Bifano worked for Keyes Martin Advertising, Springfield,
in the Financial Department for 15 years. She retired
in 1988. She was active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the
Greenbrier Woodlands VFW and served as the treasurer for 3
years. She volunteered at the Howard Clinic in Brick
since 1992.
She
is predeceased by her husband Samuel who passed in 1970.
She is survived by her sister, Ann Bontempo - Scandur
of Toms River, niece Amy and her husband Foster Miano,

Bank, Jersey City for 12 years, He was a Teacher at the
Ocean School of Real Estate, Brick for the last 15 years and
owned and operated the Island Capital Reality in Toms River
for the Last 25 years. He received his Masters Degree in
Economics from NYU in 1964. He was a Navy Veteran of the
Korean Conflict.
He
is predeceased by his daughter Tara Collier who passed in
1996. Mr Sheridan leaves his wife Dorothy, one son
Thomas of Toms River his daughter Mary and son in law Dennis

Lewis Conrad, 51, of Brick passed away June 26, 2008 at
Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.

in Newark, he resided in Maplewood before moving to Brick in
1969.
Michael owned and operated M. Conrad Industrial Demo and
Trucking LLC, a demolition and trucking company in Brick
from 1988 until the present time.
He
was predeceased by his brother Frank and his sister Sharon
Seeber.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife Lillian Conrad, his
cherished son Donald Michael Conrad, and sister Nancy
Scaltrito of Toms River. Besides his immediate family,
Michael leaves many friends and relatives that will always
remember a caring, giving and loving man. He was
always there for his close ones as well as strangers that
may have needed a helping hand. Michael will be deeply
missed by all.

Linzalone, 90, of Brick, passed away Thursday, June 26,
2008 at home.
Born in Gioia
Del Colle Bari, Italy. Before moving to the United
States in February of 1956, Pasquale served in the Italian
Army in Rhodes Greece. He also served in the
Police Force in Genoa. Upon coming to the United
States, he became a hair stylist working at Sterns in
Paramus, New Jersey and in California. He then owned
Mr. Pat's Hair Fashions in Rutherford, New Jersey until
retiring in 1988.
Pat was also a member of the Mens Club of Lions Head South.
He is survived by his wife Norma Martoglio Linzalone.

Elberta
Dealaman Hodgson, the widow of George Hodgson, died on
June 19, 2008 at the Masonic Home of New Jersey.
She
lived a glorious and fulfilling life. Mrs. Hodgson,
formally of Brielle, was born on October 6, 1912 in
Pluckemin, NJ. She was predeceased by her parents Mae
Petty Dealaman and Frederick Dealaman, her brothers
Frederick II, Frederick Jr., Russell, Laird and George, and
her sister Iva Dealaman Grosch.
Mrs.
Hodgson was a very involved in many activities and
organizations. Besides being an excellent cook and
gardener, she enjoyed entertaining dinner guests, golfing,
playing bridge, bowling, reading, playing the piano, walking
the Sea Girt boardwalk and being with her grandchildren and
her great-grandchildren. She had recent discovered the
pleasures of quilting and knitting. She was a member
of The Church of St. Uriel the Archangel and was Past
President of the Evening Guild. She was a volunteer at
Jersey Shore University Hospital for Many Years in the
Neo-natal unit and past President of the Asbury Park
Auxiliary to the hospital. She was also a member and
Past President of the Brielle Women's Club. She was
also actively involved in the Eastern Star.
Mrs.
Hodgson is survived by her three daughters, Pamela and her
husband Gary Gallamore, Toms River, NJ, Deborah and her
husband Stephen Derkoski, Haddonfield, NJ and Kimberly and
her husband Robert Reynolds, Reisterstown, MD. She is
also survived by her grandchildren Jennifer and her husband
Roby Del Papa, Pensacola, FL, Wendy and her husband Jason
Martin, Mt. Laurel, NJ, Ryan Derkoski, Williamstown, NJ,
Jenna Derkoski, Boston, MA and Jaime Derkoski, Philadelphia,
PA and two great-grandchildren Michael and Callie Martin,
Mt. Laurel, NJ. She is also survived by her sister
Joan and her husband Joseph Gueci, West Long Branch, NJ, a
sister-in-law Virginia Dealaman, Warren, NJ and a large

Ezio
"Tony" Dal Lago, passed away Thursday, June 20,
2008 at Community Medical Center, Toms River, after a
long illness.
Ezio
was born on June 19, 1933 in North Bergen, NJ. He was
the third child of Carlo and Annetta Dal Lago. He was
a graduate of Emerson High School in Union City where he was
a four year letterman in football and co-captain of the
varsity team. After high school Ezio joined the US Air
Force in 1952. He served with the 745th Tactical
Squadron as a airplane mechanic at Shepard Air Force base in
Texas. He was honorably discharged in 1955.
After returning home he married his high school sweetheart,
Anna Coughlin, On June 4, 1955. Ezio worked for a short time
in a meat packing plant. In 1964 Ezio went to work for
Sears Roebuck and Company and retired from Sears after 35
years of service.
Ezio is survived by his loving wife Anna, his daughter Diana
and her husband Charles Holder, his son Charles and wife

Settembrino Sr., 95, of Toms River, passed away on
Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at Frankford Tarsdale Hospital,
Philadelphia.
Born
in and residing in Philadelphia, PA, Mr. Settembrino moved
to Toms River in 1978. He owned and operated Al's
Tailor Shoppe on Franklin & Butler Streets,
Philadelphia, for 15 years, then worked as a tailor for
Sears & Robuck Company of Bucks County, PA, for 20
years, retiring in 1978. Mr. Settembrino was a member
of St. Justin's RC Church, Toms River, St. Justin's Seniors
and the Holy Name. He was also a member of the Old
Guard of Toms River, Seaside Italian American Club and a
former member of Silver Bay Chapter of Deborah.
Mr.
Settembrino is predeceased by his daughter Theresa Narr, who
passed in 1967, and his wife Anna Settembrino who passed in
1998. He is survived by his son Albert Settembrino Jr.
of Philadelphia, 1 sister, Philomena Buffardi, 6
grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

M. Zomack, 77 of Lakewood, passed away on Tuesday, June
17, 2008 at Community Medical Center Hospice, Toms River.
Born
in Passaic, he lived and raised a family in Clifton, before
moving to Lakewood in 2003. Mr. Zomack worked for 28
˝ years at Western Electric, Kearny, and retired from
Caldwell Banker, after a ten year career in Real Estate.
Robert "Red" was a prominent softball pitcher,
playing in Industrial and Recreation Leagues throughout New
Jersey.
He is survived by his wife Mary, two sons; Robert and his
fiance Joyce Brown of Old Bridge, and Glenn and his wife
Joyce of Monroe Township, a sister; Marilyn Wercholuk of
Florida, 5 Grandchildren; Robert, Daniel, Jamie, Melissa
& Michael. and 5 Great Grandchildren.

25 years settling in Brick in 1985. Miss Gollhofer was
an executive secretary for National Community Bank of New
Jersey in Maywood for 25 years retiring in 1983.
She
is survived by her friend Jean Tiel of Brick.

13, 2008, at Laurelton Village.
Born
in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Mrs. Casey resided in
Lakewood until moving to Toms River in 1992. She was
an Assistant Manager of the Bambergers in Eatontown for 10
years, and then Salesperson for the College Shop at Georgian
Court for 13 years, retiring in 2000.
Mrs.
Casey is predeceased by her daughter Claire Cobb, who passed
in 1989, and by her husband, Alfred Casey, who passed in
1991. She is survived her daughter Professor Judy
Casey Georgian Court College, and by 5 grandchildren and 7

Chillemi, 48, of Lakewood, passed away Wednesday, June
11, at University Medical Dentistry Hospital, Newark.
Born in
Lakewood, living there all of his life. He was a
construction worker and co-owner of the Chillman
Construction Co., Lakewood. Michael was a member of
the Caffarelli Family Study Research Foundation Inc.
His brothers
Victor Chillemi Jr, and Brian Chillemi predecease him.
Michael is survived by three brothers; Robert, William and
Gary, and eight sisters; Frances Comar, Carol Castagna,
Norma Chillemi, Susan Chillemi, Denise Lance, Angela
Chillemi, Pamela Franklin and Patricia Colasurdo. Many
nieces and nephews also survive Michael.

Raymond K.
Rossiter, 85 of Greenbrier Woodlands, Toms River, NJ
passed on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Community Medical Center,
Toms River.
Born in
Hinghwa, Fukien, China to Fred and Daisy Rossiter who were
missionaries, they moved to Washington, DC in 1937. He later
moved to Suffern, NY, and in 1991 to Toms River. Mr.
Rossiter was a WW II veteran, serving in Army Intelligence
in the Pacific Arena. He worked for Voice of America on the
Far Eastern Desk. He was a College Professor at Rockland
Community College in Suffern, NY for 30 years retiring in
1989. During his tenure he served as Department Chair and in
1993 was awarded Professor Emeritus. In his retirement years
he taught several semesters at Ocean Community College. He
held several positions with the Greenbrier Woodlands VFW
Post 8885 and at the time of his death held the post of
Chaplain. He was a member of St Andrew United Methodist
Church, Toms River.
He is predeceased by his parents and his daughter, Rebecca
Rossiter who passed in 2006. He is survived by his wife of
21 years Enid Antonia Rossiter, his son Richard Rossiter of
Hoboken, NJ and his daughter Doris and her husband Thomas
Klug of Chappaqua, NY, and his grandson Michael Klug. Also
surviving are his stepson Joseph Piegare of Hoboken, NJ,
stepdaughter Janis and her husband Ronald Ralph of Oakland,
NJ, step-grandchildren Jason and Chris Ralph of Tarpon
Springs, FL, three cousins -- Gwen Fox, Martha Chisholm and
Barbara Bazzell -- and close friends Barbara and David
Sides.

Ritacco and soon to be son-in-law Bruce Stewart of Easton,
PA, Susan and her husband John D'Elia of Toms River.
Two sisters Theresa Laccitello of Fairfield and Rose
Pedalino of Belleville. Her beloved grandchildren

Ruben
A. "Tex" Reeves, 81, of Brick, passed away
Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
Born in
Greenville, TX, moving to East Orange in 1950, and then
residing in Westfield for 38 years, before moving to Brick
in 1992. Ruben worked for Western Electric, Kearny for 35
years as a tool & dye maker, retiring in 1981. He was a
World War II US Army Veteran, and was a Trustee for the Golf
Association of Lions Head and a member of the Men's Club of
Lions Head South. He will be remembered for his passion for
fishing on his boat "Catchalot", his family and
friends shared his enthusiasm for happy times, not only
fishing, but enjoying the tranquility of the ocean and
surrounding environs, and then sharing his catch with
friends and neighbors.
He is predeceased by his son William in 2002, and survived
by his beloved wife Ramona for 56 years, and he loved his
children & grandchildren; two daughters and sons in law:
Gail & James Xu, of Richmond, VA, and their children,
Claire Xu & Lauren Xu and Carol & Kenneth Cumbie of
Wesley Chapel, FL, and their son Brian Cumbie, a daughter in
law; Linda Kelly, a sister; Ruby Martin of Waco, TX.

Soltis 84 of Brick passed away June 8, 2008 at Jersey
Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
Born
in Bayonne he resided in Linden before moving to Brick 23
years ago.
Mr. Soltis worked for Western Freight Trucking company, New
York, in Sales for 16 years retiring in 1986. He was a World
War II Army Veteran, a communicant of the Church of the
Visitation RC Church, Brick. He was a member of the
Lions Head Mens Club and the Raritan Traffic Club.
He
was predeceased by his son Gary S. Soltis.
Surviving are his wife Stella Grodkiewicz Soltis. His
son and daughter in law Kenneth A. and JoAnn M. Soltis of
Old Bridge, his daughter and son in law Doreen A. and Brent
A. Gara of Forked River. His brother John Soltis of La
Grange, GA., his sisters Margaret Demyanovich, Eleanor Kimak
both of Linden and his cherished 7 grandchildren Wendy,

Kevin was a sorter for UPS, Lakewood for 31 years, he
also owned and operated for 10 years L&D Exterminating,
Toms River. He was a communicant of St. Justin's RC
Church, Toms River.
Kevin was
predeceased by his Father John Gallagher and daughter Lauran
in 1999.
Surviving are his wife Cathy Horvath Gallagher, his son
Daniel and daughter Kaitlin. His mother Barbara

Fairfield. His Maternal grandmother Ann Ifkovits of
Toms River. Kevin is also survived by his brothers and their

years.
Born
in Brooklyn, he resided in Valley Stream, NY before moving
to Brick over 20 years ago. He served proudly in the
Merchant Marine during World War II.
Survived by his wife of 68 years, Agnes A. and children
Diane Lasher (F. David, deceased), Carol Carpluk (Douglas),
Robert (Carroll), John, and David (Jeanne). Loving
grandfather of 14 and great grandfather of 20. Also
survived by one sister, Doris White.

Patermostoro 88 of Lexington, Kentucky passed away May
31, 2008.
Born in Newark
he resided in Belleville, West Palm Beach, Fla moving to
Kentucky in 1999. Vincent was an Engineer for Hoffman-LaRoche
for 28 years retiring many years ago. He was a Corporal in
the US Army during World War II.
He was the
husband of the late Mafalda Patermostoro who died on October
30, 2007.
Surviving are his son Frank Patermostoro of Nicnolasville,
NY, his daughters Marianne P. Ramsey of Lexington, KY and
Gina P. Slater of Red Bank, NJ. A sister Grace Verdi
and 2 grandchildren Chelsey A. Slater and Meghan R. Slater.

Rutan 81 of Brick passed away on Friday May 30, 2008 at
Community Medical Center Hospice after a long illness.
Born in
Newark, Mr. Rutan lived in Lakewood moving to Brick 5 years
ago. He was a Navy veteran serving in World War II.
Earl worked for Lazzara, Taystee Bread and Zimmerman's
before his retirement. Earl enjoyed cooking, his trips to
Atlantic City and a good laugh.
He is survived
by his wife Cathy of 33 years and four children from a
previous marriage, two daughters and sons in law Dallas and
Tom Szabo of Medford and Linda and Leo Taylor of Laurence
Harbor and 2 sons and a daughter in law Chuck and Judy Rutan
of Eatontown and Bobby Rutan. 2 sisters in law Sue
Cushing and Helen Ludowig. 6 grandchildren and 2 great

away Monday June 2.
Born in New
York City where he attended CCNY. He served in the Korean
War & was a life member of the VFW Post 8885. He worked
for American Airlines for 33 years as a comptroller and
Manager of Budgets and cost for the Eastern Division and the
Caribbean. Retiring in 1987 after 33 years.
He leaves
behind his wife of 51 years Ruth (nee Von Gonten), a sister
Linda Mucci of the Bronx, a special sister in law &
brother in law Rose & Andrew Popovich of Brooklyn.

Jean Figel of Jersey City, 40, passed on Monday, June 2,
2008 at her sister's home in Toms River.
Born
in Toms River, she lived in England for two years before
relocating to the New York City metro area. Christina was a
Director of Special Markets for Random House, Inc. in
Manhattan.
Christina is survived by her parents Donald and Jean Figel
of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, her sister and brother-in-law
Heather and Michael Feimer of Toms River, and her brother
Matthew of New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Her nieces and nephew
are Brandilyn Christina Feimer, Caliann Sophia Feimer, and
Michael Anthony John Feimer.
An
informal memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, June
7, 2008 from 3-5 PM at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home,
2482 Church Rd, Toms River, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the

predeceased by his wife Regina who passed in 2006. He is

in Kearny she resided in Kearny and Harris before moving to
Toms River in 1985, then Lakewood 7 years ago. Mrs. Kennedy
was a CLM Clerk for Bell Telephone in Newark for 25 years
retiring in 1992. She was a communicant of St. Justin's RC
Church, Toms River and the St. Justin's Seniors.
She
was the wife of the late Mortimer Kennedy who died in 1995.
Surviving are her sons Christopher Kennedy and Barry
Kennedy. Her daughters Ellen Johnson and Sheila Glancy.
Her brother Francis Eugene Quinn and sister Elizabeth Dunn.
She is also survived by her 10 cherished grandchildren and 1

in Jersey City she resdied in North Bergen and Dover,
Delaware before moving to Brick 25 years ago. Eleanora was
an Executive Secretary for General Foods, Hoboken and
Delaware before her retirement. She was a member of St.
Thomas Lutheran Church, Brick and St. John's Lutheran Church
in Jersey City, she was also an Eastern Star.
Eleanora
was predeceased by her first husband Robert Nixon and then
her second husband Max Kemter. Surviving are many nieces,
nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
